Teamworks expanded its position as the Operating System for Sports through three strategic acquisitions: Telemetry Sports, Zelus Analytics, and Basepath. Each acquisition strengthened a different layer of the platform — from AI-powered sports intelligence and video analytics to NIL operations and athlete compensation management — helping Teamworks support teams across recruiting, scouting, coaching, and roster management.

To introduce these acquisitions, I developed integrated digital launch campaigns across blog experiences, email communications, D1Ticker placements, web banners, website takeover experiences, and social media assets. Each announcement required a distinct visual narrative while maintaining consistency with the Teamworks brand, translating complex product stories into clear, engaging campaigns for athletic departments and sports organizations.

Telemetry Sports

Telemetry Sports expanded Teamworks’ coaching and scouting capabilities through advanced video analysis, computer vision, and player tracking technology. By integrating Telemetry’s film intelligence with Teamworks’ existing platform, teams could better evaluate athletes and make more informed decisions.

For the visual direction, I drew inspiration from Telemetry’s video workflow and product UI, using motion and football play concepts to capture the experience of analyzing game film. Route diagrams, movement patterns, and on-field strategy informed a dynamic system that reflected the speed and precision of the product.

Landing Page

Telemetry’s existing website visitors needed a clear transition point to the Teamworks ecosystem without disrupting their browsing experience. The solution balanced visibility and usability through a first-visit desktop takeover overlay, followed by a persistent ticker below the navigation for returning users; on mobile, a static banner above the navigation provided a consistent path to the acquisition announcement blog.

Announcement Collateral

The announcement system was designed to scale across multiple channels, creating a consistent brand experience while adapting to the unique behaviors of each platform. Each asset — from conversion-focused banners to visual-first social content — balanced clarity, engagement, and the goal of driving audiences to learn more.

Results

The acquisition introduced Teamworks’ coaching and scouting platform to a market of teams already leveraging Telemetry, with adoption across 80% of NFL teams and 20% of Power 4 programs, later expanding through partnerships like ESPN’s college football research team.

Zelus Analytics

Zelus Analytics brought advanced data science and machine learning capabilities to Teamworks, allowing teams to evaluate performance through deeper player insights, tracking data, and predictive analytics. The acquisition strengthened Teamworks’ ability to support decision-making beyond operations and into roster construction and athlete evaluation.

For the visual direction, I combined analytical graphs with football route concepts to illustrate the relationship between performance data and on-field outcomes. The goal was to create a system that felt both technical and dynamic, showing how historical performance could be analyzed to uncover trends and project future potential.

Results

The launch positioned Teamworks’ expansion into sports intelligence, introducing a platform built by 70+ data scientists and 25+ PhDs with experience across 30+ professional front offices while opening access beyond its previous exclusive team model.

Basepath

Basepath strengthened Teamworks’ personnel management capabilities by bringing NIL operations, contract workflows, and athlete payment solutions into the platform. The acquisition supported Teamworks’ vision of a unified solution for managing the modern college sports roster.

For the visual direction, I used Basepath’s existing graph motif as the foundation for a system that represented two products becoming one. The connecting line served as both a brand element and a motion device, visually joining the logos together while reinforcing the broader story of platform integration.

Results

The acquisition strengthened Teamworks’ personnel management ecosystem by integrating NIL operations and payment solutions used by 75+ campuses and responsible for more than $100M in student-athlete payments.
